OpenAI has announced a forthcoming superapp that will bring together its three most popular AI tools-ChatGPT, Codex, and Atlas-under a single interface. The move is designed to simplify the way users interact with the companys services, removing the need to jump between separate programs.

ChatGPT will continue to handle conversational queries, while Codex remains focused on code generation and assistance for developers. Atlas, the image‑creation engine, will be embedded alongside the other two, allowing users to generate visuals without leaving the same workspace.

The integrated platform will feature a shared toolbar that lets users switch contexts with a single click, and a unified settings panel where preferences for each model can be adjusted in one place. This design aims to reduce the friction that can occur when managing multiple applications on the same device.

OpenAI also plans to add agentic tools that enable the AI to invoke Codex or Atlas automatically when a task calls for it. For example, a user asking the chat model to draft a technical article could trigger Codex to suggest code snippets, and Atlas to create accompanying diagrams.

By consolidating its services, OpenAI hopes to address the fragmentation that has emerged as its product suite expanded. The superapp will be available on Windows, macOS, and major mobile platforms, offering a consistent experience across devices.

Early testers have reported that the single‑window approach saves time and reduces the mental load of juggling multiple logins and interfaces. OpenAI expects the superapp to become the primary entry point for both casual users and professionals who rely on AI assistance in their daily work.
