Apple had reportedly been searching for a larger, more suitable space since vacating their former Bahnhofstrasse location, eventually selecting the corner of Lintheschergasse and Usteristrasse adjacent to the Globus department store.

The new site at Lintheschergasse 7 offers a ground-floor sales area of approximately 454 square meters, comparable in size to the current Rennweg store. Additionally, there is a first-floor space labeled Backstage in the permit documents, which could be used for office purposes or potentially expanded into retail space. If utilized for sales, the store's total retail footprint could become one of the largest Apple locations in Europe, with reports estimating an overall area of about 2,000 square meters.

The concrete cladding on upper floors will remain unchanged, adhering to heritage requirements.
